Spaces for Cultural Engagement and Belonging at Smith College

Mwangi Cultural Center (est. 1973)

Managed by the Office of Multicultural Affairs, the Mwangi Cultural Center is an essential cornerstone on campus. It provides a physical space for cultural organizations and students to engage in holistic programming, host intellectually enriching discussions, and effectively build community. The center's activities and resources aim to foster a sense of belonging and support for students at Smith College. The Mwangi Cultural Center is a hub for activities, discussions, and events that promote cultural student life and campus celebrations.

Unity House (est. 1991)

Unity House gets its name from the student leadership of the Unity organizations, "as a symbol of their togetherness and cooperation." Unity House is a shared space amongst all Unity organizations and serves as an organizing hub for intimate gatherings, meetings, programming, studying, relaxing, and community building.
