Biography
Wade Wofford has studied filmmaking relentlessly over the past 25 years: screenwriting at the University of Georgia, acting at the Sanford Meisner School in Hollywood, filmmaking at Los Angeles Film School. In 2004, his first feature as Writer/Director/Producer - PERCEPTION - won Best Dramatic Feature at the Hollywood DIY Film Fest. In 2011, he co-founded Happy Wasteland Studios and released his second feature, THE ANSWER, which won the Rising Star Award at the Canada International Film Festival. His third/most recent feature, URBAN ED (based on the real-world closure of a charter school in the inner city), won the Audience Choice and Excellence in Filmmaking Awards at Boston International Film Festival. Wofford’s screenplays have placed in the Nicholls Screenwriting Fellowship and Austin Film Festival, and he’s won a Stowe Fellowship and Best SciFi Screenplay at Nashville Film Festival.
