COVID Updates for Employees including the end of Smith testing and Over-the-counter Test Kits

Last January per guidance issued as part of the federal government's declaration of a public health emergency, Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) and OptumRX expanded coverage for COVID-19 Over-the-Counter Test Kits. This coverage will end on May 11, 2023, when the public health emergency expires. If you're covered by a Smith medical plan, you can order and/or seek reimbursement for Over-the-Counter Test Kits acquired prior to May 11, 2023, via OptumRX or Blue Cross Blue Shield (https://www.bluecrossma.org/myblue/coronavirus-resource-center#get-tested).
