Calling all fans of science fiction and fantasy writing! Are you interested in how speculative storytelling can explore real world issues—from climate change to capitalism? Then join five contemporary science fiction and fantasy (SFF) authors for a panel discussion moderated by Smith College faculty member Allegra Hyde.
Touring this fall as “The Traveling Science Fiction & Fantasy Festival,” authors Elaine Cho, Mia Tsai, J.R. Dawson, Emily Jane, and Yume Kitasei represent the diverse range of voices redefining these genres. At Smith College, they will participate in a panel discussion entitled “Worldbuilding and the Real World” to talk about their perspectives on the evolving landscape of SFF writing, how their identities and backgrounds inform their new books, and more. There will be an opportunity for audience questions, as well as a book signing after the panel. Books will be available for purchase through Broadside Books. Hope to see you there!
